In 2010, bitter, frustrated and uncertain, I walked away from the career and identity I had spent five years creating. Holding onto nothing more than a kernel of hope and my next step, I believed that more was possible, (even if I didn't know what that was).
For the last nine years I have been studying, researching, dialoguing and digging into the psychology of what it means to empower people to be their best at work, in life and out there in the world. Included in this is:
-
What shifts people from being hopeless to hopeful?
-
What launches people into their own greatness and purpose?
-
What is possible when people reconnect with their values and develop their innate talents into strengths and capabilities?
Last year, while deepening my skills as a leadership coach, I had the great fortune of meeting Alison Caldwell Johnson. What struck me about Alison was her ability to lean into her values, bring humour and humanness to her work, and lead from a place of authenticity. Having just left her long time career in the not-for-profit space, and launching herself in new directions, we quickly found that our individual experiences weren't so different. In fact, so much of my story was echoed in hers. The common theme between our stories was this: Feeling stuck in situations that suck - having to do too much with not enough - is sadly a common experience. But what if there was a different way to move forward? A way to move with ease and hope?
Feeling stuck in situations that suck - having to do too much with not enough - is sadly a common experience.
But...
What if there was a different way to move forward?
A way to move with ease and hope?
For both of us, the answer was the same: remember who we are, dream of what we could do and then move in the direction of that dream. It wasn’t enough to just dream. It wasn’t enough to just know we could do better. It was taking the next right step in the direction of our dreams and then the one after that and the one after that that gave us hope that the stuck space wasn’t our forever space.
It is with great excitement that I announce The Thrive Life Collective. Our vision is create an empire of the empowered. People making small shifts in the direction of their best selves, fuelled to succeed by their own values, strengths and hope.
Our inaugural event is happening on June 11, 2019, from 6:45pm - 9:45pm. Alison and I will be facilitating a conversation anchored in remembering who you are, dreaming about what's next and designing action steps to get you there. By the end of the night you will not only have actionable steps, but a plan to move you there; a process that you can follow again and again.
We would love to have you join us. If you've been asking yourself if there is more to life than this, wondering "if not this than what", or feeling stuck and looking for your next step, this event is for you. Reserve your spot now. If you know of someone who has been asking these questions themselves, please pass this along.
As this is our first event and so excited, we are offering early bird pricing. Use the code LAUNCHATELIER to receive $10 off. Pricing includes all materials, light refreshments, and a 30-minute coaching call in the weeks following the event.
Can't wait to see you there.
