What's Getting in Your Way?
You. You are getting in your way.
You and your big fears, the what if's, the "I'll wait until it's a better time", the "when I'm ready".
I know this because it's the exact same excuses that I have been using myself. I want it to be perfect; right. I want to be perfect. I want to be "perfect".
But at some point, there has be a hard stop. A hard stop with yourself to say enough is enough. Sometimes the hardest stand we have to take is with ourselves. Showing up for ourselves, even when it's hard. Even when it's uncomfortable. Even when I feel like I'm going to throw up and collapse into an unrecognizable heap of nothingness. Even when I wish the floor would open and suck me down into its' core.
The hard truth is this: No one is going to do the work for you. No one is going to show you the right way to accomplish your dreams. They are YOUR DREAMS! Make them a reality. On small step at a time.
I don't want to wake up in 10 years time with a whole list of what if's running through my brain. I want to say that I did something and that I learned. I want to share how it was hard, but if I can do it, so can you. I want the message to be about hope and optimism, resilience and courage. I want the learning to be enriched by the people who I have served and who have benefited from me showing up.
The hardest part is showing up. Showing up for yourself and what you stand for. The difficulty lies not in the doing, but overcoming the fears that remind you of all your deepest, darkest fears. Your worst case scenario.
The only thing in your way is you. And the only way through is you. Today you have a choice. What's it going to be?
